Urban Screening 2019 Opening

  • AUDRC 1002 hay street PERTH Australia (map)

Cities, like dreams, are made of desires and fears, even if the thread of their discourse is secret, their rules are absurd, their perspectives deceitful, and everything conceals something else. Italo Calvino – Invisible Cities

Urban Screening is a public video exhibition that collects local, national, and international films that engage with issues related to cities and public spaces. The event debuted at the Perth Cultural Centre during Architecture Week Western Australia 2014. In 2015, Urban Screening expanded to other Australian cities (Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane and Canberra) through the Australian Institute of Architects’ Emerging Architects and Graduate Network (EmAGN).

This year’s event is themed around the impacts of screens, surveillance, and mixed-realities upon the experience and imagination of cities. This year’s event will exhibit in the Perth Cultural Centre November 15 - December 15 and will be part of Melbourne Design Week in 2020.

Please join us for an early screening of films with drinks and popcorn to be provided.
